Dear non-native, I'm a village girl
Dear non-native,
I'm a village girl
Surrounded by fried bread, cutting fish and alcohol
Family of a million, I don't know who you are
But it's okay, you're my cousin
I'm a village girl
Surrounded by two little brothers, books, and daily dishes
Home for only three months in a year, I don't want to grow up
But it's okay, I'll meet new people
I'm a village girl
My dad's in jail, and so is my mom, but she isn't
From growing up too fast and caring for my brothers
But it's okay, I'm still happy
Please don't stamp these experiences on me
But see me from the view of how I react
I'm still happy, but sometimes I cry
But it's okay, I know life moves on
I want people to know I'll always smile
Bad things will come, but good things too
I'm a village girl
Surrounded by experiences a young shouldn't feel
Wonders by a million, I don't know where
But it's okay, I love where I am
