Dawn (An Ode to the Daughter I Love)

Her first words were spoken
In the cadence of utopia
Honey-dipped in ambrosia
And fed to the gods

Her marble feet were the foundation
Columns upon which
To build the kingdom of Olympus

Within her smile lies Elysium
A paradise of unspeakable beauty
Reserved only for those deserving heavenly bliss
And damning all the rest

Behind her lids sits the cosmos
Swirling in hypnotic eternity
As boundless as Creation itself

She is Dawn,
Bringer of light
Rosy-fingered and
Bright-throned
Blinding in her brilliance
While the day has yet to come.
