Darkness is Running

It feels like I'm chasing my own shadow,
Never quite catching the phantom.
Walking, Running, Sprinting.
The spectra inches from my hand.
But I'm never fast enough.

The phantasm disappears.
It leaves me
deserted. abandoned. alone.
Is it a good thing when a ghost runs from you?
Does that make you
a shadow? a phantom?
Darkness?
