Darkness Consumed

An uncontrollable wave of doom

Locked alone in a dark room.

Shadows moving all around,

Steadily creeping with no sound.

I scream for help, but no one comes,

I'm stuck imaging what's to succumb.

Nothing was real

Nothing caused harm.

It's not a big deal

No cause for alarm

The darkness is not menacing.

The darkness is not intimidating.

The darkness is not a threat.

Primal fears consumed me then,

Primal instincts overcame death.

Close your eyes and let go

Release yourself

Let darkness consume you
