Darkness

There's an anxious darkness,

It lurks and screams,

A deadly silence,

It fills your dreams,

And when you think it's gone,

It comes back in threes,

It's friends to taunt you,

To drive you to your knees,

There's an anxious darkness,

But it does aim to please.

So be patient--and if you may,

Hold tight to sanity that binds.

For selfish hands they reach,

They scream of hunger and greedy things,

They cry wolf and there are wolves,

But there are no sheep here.

There's only one victim,

And the pack has reared,

There's an anxious darkness,

And it is here.

You are the victim,

But no, no tears.

You are only the victim,

And it's all from your fears.

You are the darkness,

Have been for years.

So dry it up love,

Your life ends here
