Dare To Be

The sky was an impeccable shade of blue.

The type of blue that you only see in the box of 64 crayons that you begged for as a child.

Or the shade of her eyes as she said she loves you, lying through her teeth.

The underbelly of the bird nesting in your favorite tree.

His shirt that you finally picked up off the floor.

After staring at it for 29 days.

We stare out into the unresounding universe

With questions streaming from our eyes.

This seemingly unattainable color of the atmosphere

Stared us down and said,

"I dare you.

I dare you to see if the sky is really the limit."
