A Dancer's View

Thu, 02/06/2020 - 22:33 -- 20uhlt

I watch from the corner

the room so full around me,

people grace in all directions

my heart beats in agony.

I watch from the corner

knowing I won't be perfect,

when suddenly I stop in my tracks

my eyes focused in the moment.

I watch from the corner

she floats through the air,

her leg cracks behind her head

without a single care.

I watch from the corner

knowing I should watch someone else,

but she draws you in like a magnet

and I can’t look anywhere else.

I watch from the corner

completely in awe,

she exudes the utmost confidence

and something ignites in my soul.

I step out onto the floor

and take in her energy,

for it is her passion

that brings out the life within me.
