Cycle

Scared of rejection

and reaching only for perfection,

I was stuck in a rhythm,

giving every little thing too much symbolism,

with a desire to set myself free

but no means available to me.

Since the last cold winter,

my skin has become much thicker.

I've learned to look past flaws

and avoid people who are rude without a cause.

The cycle is broken and it has been for a while.

Thinking about how far I've come always makes me smile.

The future looks bright,

even if things arent all right

because I know that everything is changing

and nothing bad is everlasting,

despite the good passing too.

Don't worry. What's meant to be will always come to you.

This year I broke out of a toxic loop.

There may be more to come, but now I have the scoop.
