Curtain Call
Sit & wait silence plays
( in that space inside my head )
fantasies, good and bad
play out upon the stage.
Here it comes, from the wings
don't look back or it's all over
heart hammers, knees shake
waiting for that curtain call
Play it out, all I can
study faces in the crowd
hate me love me, I don't care.
I'm here now and that's all
Waiting, waiting, heart in hand
silence filled with deafening applause
it's done, it's happened, all went well
We've made it to the curtain call.
