Crucifix

A field, so clean
So serene, come here

I viewed, as we stand
Stands a cross, standing there

Your hand, I took
We stand, at the foot

I gazed, in your eyes
Replied, one must die

I tied my hands
As you watched standing there
You smiled at my face
I smile, knew it was fake

A lost, space in time
While you lived, I died

You chose your fate
You chose, a mistake

You come, again
This time, with a friend

You saw, looked away
While I hang, Blood in my face

I tied my hands
As you were standing there
Could you look at my face?
You can’t, it was fate

You held, my hand
As I fell, off the ledge
You looked, said “no”
But you knew, I must go.
