Crossroads ...

Jeremiah 6:16

16 Thus says the Lord:

“Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths, where the good way is,
And walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

Crossroads

I can see it I can touch it ... yes it must be real.

Wood and stone arranged to provide a shelter.

No one lives here yet ... it has not been finished.

No character interwoven ... no heartbeat has it felt.

Calm beyond a sound ... birds breaking the air.

Molded in solitude ... fading in the day.

Maybe all is ready ... to show all is unfair

with past dreams unachieved and never times to pray.

Laying stones on one another ... without time of prayer

is like building walls ... without a real purpose.

Never to be used ... showing forms of the sinful

as most all seem to labor ... in their hunger to be useful.

Local weeds and ticks ... blistering in the daylight

sucking from life ... the little that is left.

Makes me a wonder ... that all things keep on moving

towards their own finality ... as examples of bereft.
