Cries For Peace

Outspoken, the head man had said,

We will fight no longer,

For my men are dead.

Their cries are heard upon the seas,

In the air ever remains their pleas.

He cried, I demand peace!

For the soldiers never sleep,

Their fighting never cease.

Upon the graves of their own,

Their innocent souls moan.

A world without war,

The leading man had said,

Would end this dreadful gore.

Every man to love another,

Would cause peace to never smother.

For once a head man had said,

Upon his pedestal he possessed,

That his soul had bled.

For he will fight no longer,

For his men are dead,

Fighting for peace that never fled.
