Crepuscular Caresses

I was welcomed with open arms,
By an old friend, the ocean.
We had a history together;
No words needed to be exchanged.
We just picked up where we left off.
It swept me off of my feet,
Always willing to caress me,
Never failing to impress me.
I felt so safe within its warm embrace.
When I reached the shore, there was a dog,
Who saw the familiarity of a father figure within me.
I returned to the water for just a bit longer,
While God rays through clouds got closer to crepuscule.
When we parted ways, we waved goodbye,
And I assured it that I would visit again.
