Count Your Blessings

This by far started as your worst day because nothing in it went your way.  It all started when you woke up late; then while making breakfast, you shattered a plate.

Next, of course, your car broke down, so in the rain, you walked to town.  Downhill your day tumbled, when you lost your job; all you wanted to do was go home and sob.

But the school called and said, “Hurry! Come quick! You need to pick up your child! He is terribly sick!”
You spent your day caring for your ill son, and it wasn’t quite your definition of fun.

Right when you thought things couldn’t get worse, you realized you had lost your purse.  It could be anywhere around town, but you no longer had time to track it down because in walked your husband through the front door.  You knew you looked like you’d gone through a war!

He soon questioned you asking, “How was your day?”  You didn’t know where to start or what to say.  But instead of grumbling and complaining you pause for a while.

Does your one bad day compare to others’ constant trials?  You realize you should be thankful for everything you own.  Compared to others you have no reason to gripe and groan.  There are people struggling just to survive; they can’t even find food to stay alive.

You have an abundance of stuff and more to share.  You have a family who loves and friends that care, and you have a safe, warm place to rest.  Therefore you answer saying, “I am blessed!”
