The count couldn't find the number of times I needed this

She takes deep breaths speaking calm into herself
ONE, I am safe
Slowing the pace of a heart that has marathoned itself
TWO, I am here
Anchoring a mind that has explored places so dark she has to shut her eyes to find light within them.
THREE, I am whole
Consoling bones that shake in the fear that they are alone
FOUR, I am at peace
Cradling herself in the calm that she claims in pieces, offering her grief the belief that this will be the one that sticks
