Confined
Location
Creeping shadows once more arise
among the shrieks of pain, their cries
Mingling with the symphony
Of wolves howling to the chilled moon
Their tales of woe and sorrow. Soon
Mine will be among the lives
They relay in haunting melody.
Now cunning owls once more take flight
Within the death embrace of Night,
Planning out the doom
Of fearful mice who crawl and creep
And-if you listen- gently weep,
For they can feel the murd’rous stares
Piercing through the gloom.
And if you rest your aching feet
Then hold a breath, you’ll hear the beat
Of hearts intertwined,
While the ancient woods bend and creak
From a howling wind, shrill and bleak.
It’s tired of being witness
To the secrets there confined.
