The Concrete Rose (Inspired by Tupac Shakur)

There once was a rose made out of concrete

Becuase concrete is where it grows

Its petals frozen solid

By the ice, the wind, and snow

Though it is beautiful on the outside

Its true colors will never show

So grows the rose made out of concrete

There once was a rose made of concrete

From cracks and stone it sprang

Hard, cold, and lifeless

Its core will never change

Its lifeless beauty

Never watered by the rain

So grows the rose made out of concrete

Tupac,

The red rose that sprang from stone

Is the opposite of this carnation

Thag rests in its beauty alone

Because a rose that comes from rock

And rock that forms a rose

Are polar opposites and naturally are foes

So grows the rose made out of concrete
