Complete Misunderstanding
Location
As simple gusts of loneliness, dandelions greet a long-lost friend
Channeling in two streams where union is all but a question.
White small clouds were rooted too deep inside their world
To beckon at faint pushes and sweet masked calls lying above.
Until the air cries against storms resting quietly in soft beds,
Here small flowers stay amid confusion of love and revenge,
Not caring if some petals fell rotten of hidden obsession.
Tides from this old world continuously crashes
Into my broken mind
For I thought that I truly knew you but it seems
If only you were who I made you out to be
From the puzzles you built before me,
Through the mistakes assumed behind rusted shut doors,
Pure happiness wouldn’t have been ripped off like flowers from my innocence.
Trying to impress admiration follows despair;
Something I wish I did not understand.
Honesty must bridge one’s dignity to another soul
Along love’s sapling smothered through the cracks
Capable of concealing hatred for one another.
Too many steps destroy simplicity in complex notions.
Emotions corrupt yet provide love’s sense
In a human’s mind,
Not matter their map’s thinness
Charted under plain view.
Because I love you isn’t a common phrase,
Its lost meaning ends blooming gardens.
Pottery left scars and bruises on my hands.
Thus, my friends blend into nothingness
With the empty voices left only by myself.
Each vase filled to the brim of dreams that could have been.
Now, every year I had to throw down my creations
To continue a dandelion's curse
Of either leaving among a crowd that never loved me
Or standing alone hopeless winters.
