Coming Out

As they walked away

They took the child in me

Along with them, I saw

 My childhood fading away

I had responsibilities like an adult

I had to live in the world of catastrophe

But the child was still there when I saw them

I never knew what I missed when I saw them

No one has loved me as they did

No one cared for me as they did

No one scolded as they did

No one looked out for me like they did

They made me the individual I am today

They look at me with PRIDE every time they see me

But I don’t how they would react

The day they discovered my secret
