To College I Go
To college I go,
Nervous as heck,
Sweat dripping from my brow.
Arms weakening from my luggage,
My dorm room smelling like a locker room.
Thoughts run through my head:
Am I ready?
Do I have what it takes?
Will people like me?
It's like high school all over again.
Hormones flarring,
Noises blarring,
People swearing.
Why am I here?
To live like YOLO is my motto?
To date, one girl after another?
To love like there's no tomorrow?
No,
To learn.
To love.
To laugh.
To be me,
Who I'm supposed to be.
College,
What a terrific, fun, scary, emotional, life-giving, messed up time.
You better bet I'm ready.
To college I go!
