College

I find myself sitting at a desk until dawn

I write countless essays til inspiration is gone

My love for learning was once a great fire

Now I can't wait til the day I retire

The paperwork folders are piled high

I slump in my chair and let out a sigh

The stress of life comes in great waves

College is ruling and we are it's slaves

My time and my energy go into school

I need to rest, I need to refuel

I cannot go on bombarded by costs

Into a pit, my money is tossed

No one can help, but pay the price

When it comes to aid, it’s a toss of the dice.

My family gets no money to use

I'm fighting a war and I will most likely lose

The prices raise after every year

The thought of it releases a silent tear

I need to pay and I need to pass

Anymore and I'll shatter like glass
