CODA

Perplexing,

Vexing-Snap-

Like a twig, back into reality.

Did I start out here?

-Snap-

Words...what are words?

Things too complex to be heard,

To be deserted and deserved.

Did you hear me?

-Snap-

Turn around, SCREAM,

Make a sound your parents can't hear,

Make it loud, bang the ground, shout it out,

No matter how hard your trying, crying,

Your loving parents, thank God, can't hear the sound of you dying-Snap-

Did you ask them?

-Snap-

Tick-tick-tock sings the clock,

Rewinding my mind, keeping my heartbeat in time to the melancholy,

Music.  Feeling.  SOUND.

-Snap-

Can they hear me?  Is there music loud enough to near to their ear drums?

Is there music powerful enough to be beautiful to their hearts?

-Snap-

Did you notice me?

Puppy eyes, mouth agap, mind slowly rolling as you rolled on the floor

and reached out.

-Snap-

New kid, taking classes.

Frustration building, tears filling, this dance thing is whooping my-Snap-

-Snap-

Did you see me?

I did that for you.

Broken paintings so expensive we never knew

if we'd live past that day.

The people, the money, my darlings.  You.

Somethings words can never say.

Look at Shakespeare, he invented it all, but he'd look away

in shame and say new things, new words, new ways-Snap-

Somethings words can never say.

-Snap-

To this day,

English as a Second Language,

First spoken language, broken language,

But ASL, mine.

-Snap-

Can I listen to you?

No.  But I can see.

Your signs are like a seed, let it grow, love will show.

Love is all you need.

-Snap-

Perplexing,

Vexing-Snap-
