coast (5/15/20)

i've heard that the person you love is the one you think about while standing by the ocean.

i haven't been to the beach in awhile,

but every daily task of mine is accompanied by daydreams of you.

i wake up and feel your absence more intensely than the blinding rays of sunlight shining through the cracks in my blinds.

i cook meals throughout the day and wish i could be cooking for you instead (i'd make you anything you wanted).

i talk to the people around me and yearn for another one of our hour-long conversations about nothing and everything.

i go to bed and i can almost feel your arms snake around me again -- something i wish i could feel all the time.

i haven't been to the beach in awhile,

so that's how i know you're the one i love.
