The City Escape

Location

I stared across the raging sea,
I found only who I long to be.
Freedom;
This is my dearest desire;
A shadow of the ghost that I admire.

As I turn my gaze towards the sky,
The pure and silver gulls fly,
With wind on their small wings.
In my dreams, I’m of their kind,
Soaring high, with a snow white mind.

“Here I am.” Says the city life.
My wandering mind falls back into strife.
Too many people, too much to do;
And some days I hold down a wicked scream,
All for the glimmering hope of the life that I dream.
