Choose to Thrive

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }

Take a deep breath through the sobs.

I know sometimes it feels like you're drowning.

But life will get better. It has to.

Eventually, you'll find yourself waking

Up, and find you've wasted this time.

Waiting for that distant day when everything will be okay.

Or you'll find yourself at the top, it was worth the climb!

You look backwards, across the valleys,

The low spots, all those nights you cried yourself to sleep,

Then woke up at 5 am from a volley

Of nightmares and tears. Just hold on, you'll get through this.

It's only a season. But it's up to you.

Up to you to choose how you get through this.

The hard times come, but in adversity

Will you still bloom where you're planted?

Or give in, calling it an atrocity –

One no one could survive?

I've gone through my low spots, but when my life is done,

I hope to look back, and see I chose to not just survive, but chose to thrive.
