A Child I Once Knew

A child I once knew

was grumpy and blue

He knew something

but hoped it wasn't true.

He looked to the sky

and prayed everyday

that there will be a time

where he will commit the biggest crime.

That crime was

LOVE.

He knew if he had done that

it could never be reversed.

But deep inside

He knew it was a curse.

He tried many things to find true happiness

In the end, he began feeling helpless.

He needed the warmth and care

But everyone gave him looks and despair.

He started to hate himself from head to toe

A seed was planted in him and it started to grow

As days passed,

he wanted to end things so fast.

He tried this one and that

and everything from his hat

But none of everything worked

And that was that.

Years passed and he knew it will come to an end,

he laid in his bed to wait and said,

"My time has come. There's no one for me.

It's time to go and set me free."

With that last breath,

he lay fast asleep.

The next day came,

many people weeped.

Goodbye my dear friend,

the one I care for all along.

I'm sorry not being there for you

so long.
