The chasm of love

He loved her, giving her his heart with trust

doing so knowing, so fragile, it could shatter to dust

much trust was a mistake indeed

as soon, she threw it down to break and bleed

she left him for a "better heart"

one in which she'd also tear apart

even after the tragic break

the heart craved more, knowing what was at stake

with its few pieces left of existence

it zoned in on a new one, with persistence

filling his dreams with a new perfect face

while in them he takes her every place

yet when he sees her he dare not tell

for he's too afraid it won't go well

"but she's different she cant be like the last"

such an idea he shuts down fast

he knows he just cant trust her

it would take all that his little heart could muster

he builds his confidence saying "I've got nothing to lose"

when his heart has already taken much abuse

it pushes him at her and forces him to speak

yet when they talk, his heart goes weak

she, perfect as she is

already has one whom calls her his

so walks away the shattered heart

yet still craving a new relationship to start

as it searches in the endless hole from above

It peers into the paroles chasm of love.
