A Change in Season, Past the Date

Dear friend, to me you’re like the Autumn's end,

A dreary, boring, blip in life’s slow time.

To lose your visage is a heaven send,

Your company has no reason or rhyme.

It’s true your time’s been slightly more than fun;

A needed change from my haphazard speed,

But just like fall, your time with me is done.

Forget you, dear, and all your shallow greed.

I’ve got a future waiting of my own.

Who needs attention where I’m going to go?

If you’d have listened then you would have known,

Don’t blame me, dear, you reap just what you sow.

There’s more to life than just a friendly face,

And cowards can always just be replaced.
