Case No 139

They got her when she was helping her Maa in the field
She was brutalised, gangraped in a manner that was violent, barbaric and ghastly
They broke her neck, did they stop; no! broke her backbone too
They cut, bruised, scratched, inflicted multiple fractures and left her to die
She never wanted to die, fought valiantly for last two weeks in the ICU
Alas! That was not to be as her injuries were too grave and serious to be treated
Today, she lost her battle with death in a hospital far away from her village
A village where she grew up, a village where her dreams too were born
The dreams that will never get fulfilled, the dreams that will never become real
She was just an ordinary girl that came from just an ordinary village
There won't be any candle march, there won't be any zero hour interruption
There won't be any discussion on tv channels, there won't be any newspaper headlines
There won't be any suo motu action on her fate by the custodians of law
Her death will go unnoticed like thousands do every year cause they never exist
We have more interesting things to take care like Mother's Day, Daughter's Day
Girls like her have no business to ruin our shining India image and feel good factor
She will forever remain what she was, the case no 139 of 2020
