Can't Have It All

You can't have it all my dear,

You can only have a bit.

And though it aches and stings and burns

You can handle it.

You can't be happy all the time,

Sometimes you have to settle.

You must mind your own heart

And never should you mettle.

You can't have your happiness,

Without a bit of pain.

And the sunshine wouldn't mean so much,

Without a little rain.

So when your world is feeling gray,

Keep your head held high.

It will all make sense, some day,

You'll understand just why.

And til that cloud of confusion clears

Hold yourself up strong.

And through the storms and winds and rains

You'll find where you belong.
