Can we go back?

Tripping around the yard as a tot

Having fun just throwing rocks

I want to go back to being a kid living free and having fun.

Life beats you down I'm young my soul's old

I've gone through hells that you'll never know.

Now the drama starts and seems not to end

The scars on my heart seem to deepen

The fights tear me down and I can't get back up

Crying don't help it just makes the hurt worse

I'm young so that makes me a fool

I'll say I'm in love when I feel like a tool

His words are kind, I can't tell if they're true

I don't want to put my heart out there again

I can write troubles it don’t make it a verse

I'm trapped in my home, it's my little cage

My father looks down on me, I'm a disgrace

Will I ever wake up from this decrepit place?
