Can’t and Won’t
Y’all think am weak
Because I choose not to speak
Because I let my ink drip
My art
And sometimes my heart out,
Because I choose to lose
Because I hide my hurt and pain
Because I choose not
To let my emotions sprout up
Like weeds and wildflowers
I can’t and will not speak
Like Ostriker, I will not speak
For me and you
I will not speak for the wind too
But find answers from deep within
I will let my heart to plead on my behalf
Let not hate to draw my life graph
Let love build me a raft
And allow silence to be my autograph
