a cacophony of symphonies

Location

i met an ivory-toothed monster

he said "hello" and sang some notes

i found comfort in his beautiful tone

i found comfort in the things that we wrote

i remember his ebony bones

and how i ran my fingers in his crevices

he sang billy joel and he smiled

the best smile into my kisses

he was always happy even when he wasn't

though sometimes he had bad days

and i remember i would hold him all night

just until the bad things went away

one day i found he was gone and i mourned

all day long and the rest of my life i missed him

and i thought i'd never truly love again until

i met a girl whose hair was lovely maple

and strings were long and thin.
