Burnt & Worn Out
Burnt & Worn Out
We are one in the same
You are the burn and I victim to place the blame
With arms extended
Skin grafts mended to my face
I sit
My fingers pointed accusatory at the fire you started
In my heart
Your viens
Our blood boiling
As I recall being pushed from the window of a building engulfed in flames
And I’m yelling “I still love you”
As I fall 3 stories from your apartment & onto the hood of some neighbors chevrolet
The car alarms go off
Sirens wail
Noisy citizens gathered; the chatter means nothing
Because all I can hear is the noise that was our drunken rage
A moment I romanticize to this very day
So now I say
Despite my body sober and scarred
That I still love you
