To Build a Temple of Love

To build the temple of love open minded, clear, calm, honest words are the foundation

Sharing of mind and heart becomes the well that springs the waters of communication

Kindness and caring make up the walls, Protection from the thrashing storm of loneliness and despair

The arms of each embrace provide a sanctuary and warmth; they become a fortress beyond compare

Selflessness becomes the door, the entrance to the heart

Without bars, locks, latches, or knobs, the invitation, the start

Trust creates the windows, through which the sun shines brightly

Large and perfect panes, through which the moon shines nightly

Floor to ceiling, wall to wall, gems and stones line the halls, some as big as a fist

Each is a priceless memory of time together, like the first time we kissed

Hope keeps the temple preserved; it keeps ivy from the windows and walls

Keeps the door open, gems bright, and the foundation free from pitfalls
