Broken Temple

You're body is a temple,
its been trampled upon by many
destruction all over you.
Sex with a new one twice a day because you
need a remedy.
Burying yourself deeper in your sorrow
where no one can find you.
You say you no longer need love because you have loved.
You say you no longer smile because you have smiled.
Do you still feel pain because you've been hurt?
You stay quiet when i ask you,
but we both know the answer.

You pick up the broken pieces and try to reconnect them,
adding solvent but nothing ever seems to fit.
Your unseen problem is that you take the pieces and try to bond them as they once used to be,
never stopping to realize that new pieces have been added and what once was
just doesn't matter.
You cry over what cannot be changed
and forget to smile over the things that have.
You say you no longer smile because you have smiled.
Well do you still feel pain because you've been hurt?
