Brainstorming All Over My Mind Palace

Brainstorming is all over the place.

Look, a bird

perched outside the window

Just kidding,

there isn't a bird.

I was just pondering the randomness of my own thoughts.

Bouncing all over the place.

Left

Right

Up

Down

Look

Flash

Bang

Terror

Love

Confusion

Tears

Jump --

onto the rollercoaster of my thoughts

and join me for this ride.

I don't know why I think this way;

I just...

think.

All the time

I can't stop,

and I don't really want to.

Now!

On to the tour of my mind!

On your right, you'll see musical obbesssions

There's a whole wing filled with them

(Hmmmmm... like a mind palace).

Then there's a wing for my family,

filled with steady drumbeats

like the wing for my friends,

Also filled with the sound of the drums

and sharing loving lullabies

and pealing laughter.

The music rooms are shining and perfect,

filled with all my inspiration and love,

my anger and my frustration.

Bowling for Soup and Green Day see me through.

The rooms of shame and fear are hidden in the basement

where I dare not venture.

On the roof you can overlook the landscape to see a perfect world.

It's all blue and green and white

Fresh and clean and cold and clear

And warm and wonderful.

Like a glass of water and a cup of soup.

And when you stand on that roof,

you don't even realize that the chaos and the clutter of the attic are right below you.

While my mind palace is built on sturdy stone,

the attic is filled with shifting sand

And dust.

I really should clean...

But!

There are so many rooms to see!

I haven't showed you half of the palace!

There's candies and mountains and dreams and

and

and...

And you can get lost trying to navigate these halls.

These halls full of emptiness when I cry,

flooding the halls with burning salt water.

But the emptiness never lasts

and neither does the burning red sand of anger.

Both are always blown away by the breath of God

Who has always guided me

Who always sends a lantern into the halls.

A lantern that lights and warms like the sun.

Yes, my mind is so large to fit the Sun.

It can fit planets and galaxies

A whole universe in and of itself!

And it's still got room to grow.
