Boxes

Wed, 12/16/2020 - 22:37 -- Reesej

The boxes of society are suffocating

Born black and a women

Lables surround me

So many standards of beauty value and success

Suddenly Im not pretty enough

Im not feminine enough

Im not smart enough

Enough

What I problemtaic word used to often

In such a problematic world

Be different,  be unique, be yourself

Lies that people often speak

In reality they want you to be like everyone else

When will we stop

Wake up and see

Identity is lost in the darkness of society

Self-worth is demolsihed in the standards that surround you and me

You see we should never try to be

Instead JUST be

The people that we authentically are
