bouquets.

Girls are a bit like
Flowers.

Some you don’t notice
Until you are with them,
And then you are struck by their bright
Color, simple pretty-ness,
Like wildflowers.

Others you notice immediately
They are big bright commanding attention;
Sunflowers-
Not always beautiful, but eyecatching.

Then you have the girls
Who are groomed, cultivated to be
Captivating,
Elegant, alluring, rich-
The Roses.

(And sometimes you are able to glimpse
One of the girls that is radiant
For a moment,
Then vanishes, gone-
A morning glory.)

I have also seen the girls
That emerge from tangled vines
And beckon, look delicious, delicate
And passerby pass by,
Suck them dry-
Leave girls broken and dangling-
The honeysuckle.

I have seen men,
walking with
bouquets.
