Body Parts

Noses are interesting. My nose is very much like my dad’s but I've always loved him more. I remember when I would walk up to him and tell him to call me “Desmond Jr.". He would laugh and the smile wrinkles would reach his nose. When I truly smiled my nose did the same. I began to take note of all the things he did. I watched as he played video games or basketball with my brother. I remember watching him as he attempted and successfully landed backflips. I watched as he sang my baby sister to sleep, and how he managed to rig everything in the house (he never wanted to pay to get it fixed). But of all the things I took note of, the one thing that stayed with me was the way he loved. Unconditionally. Needless to say I wanted to be just like him. I guess one would have called me “A daddy's girl". It started with a nose. That's all it took. One admiration leads to another. It's crazy how things turn out.
