Dying on the inside
Every day,
I feel the trail of blood
Moving down my face
The agony, I can imagine
Our hearts I know were just the same
Our eyes two of a kind
Souls entwined

Death has not separated us
Because fate, I know, is kind to me
Angel, your blood runs through me,
Your creative gifts now mine,
I can feel your presence in my mind
And while I sleep, you protect my dreams

Or at least you used to
I feel you more now when my eyes see the real
My dreams have become erratic, peace inconsistent
Can you feel my pain?
Can you read my thoughts?
I don’t pray you guide me
You have others to tend to,
My needs nowhere near as important

Just know that I will always look to you
For strength, wisdom, inspiration…
