BLIND

When you open your eyes the world changes

You see things you don’t believe

You see through the disillusion

And ironically, things get dark

When you open your eyes you’re inconvenient

You see that you’re chasing a dream

You see a man before you

But he’s just that, a man

When you open your eyes you’ve lost your way

You see compromise is a one way road

You see all your efforts

Each of which, unmatched

When you open your eyes you’re unimportant

You see you’re simply not okay

You see your house is not your home

In fact, it’s his throne

When you open your eyes you start to wonder

You ask if it was always this way

You ask yourself how

She feels fine, acting so

It all changes when you open your eyes
