Bless America

Bless America by Jordy De La Cruz Monroy

America the place where everyone loves to be,

The perfect road where it’s a choice to succeed,

Many will complain and many will gain,

The enthusiasm doesn’t stop there.

Although it can be rough at times it will have its way,

An unknown path and only the brave will see what they claim,

America is blessed because it won’t stop till the end.

America is a place where everyone around the world is accepted.

Why deny the help to a brave soul that wants to make it out of the grave?

“United” is what brings our community to integrate,

Being an immigrant doesn’t make you any less or different from everyone else.

Why push aside the ones who attempt to achieve their goals?

Are we afraid they will make it on the road and be good to go?

There shouldn’t be a limit for people who want to make it out of the hole.

America the beautiful, the place I grew up as a child,

The place where everyone doubted me as a whole,

Society wanted me to fall and feel there wasn’t any hope;

I’m an immigrant that is still standing firm and fearless,

Ready to act, ready to explode, ready to show no sympathy!

Even if, in this country, they say I am here illegally,

I will overcome the odds and prove myself to everyone who doubted me.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
