Blank Slate

Location

There are an endless number of boxes that I do not fit in,

No matter how much force I apply or how boundlessly I try.

And now my search for one single box must end.

My dreams are the only thing I cannot deny,

Because I am the summation of the dreams I fulfill.

I aspire to be far more than who I am today, and I am certain that I will.

Every choice I make defines who I am,

But I refuse to be one choice.

I refuse to accept the bounds that confine me to one action.

I am only human, I will change, I need a voice.

Looking at my reflection I know what I hold inside,

And looking deep within I realize how much I hide.

My vision for the future is an arena of white space.

I am just a series of memories being released into a blank slate.

So if placing me in a box is all you can do,

Place me in each and every box that holds true.

Allow me to grow, to change, and to breathe.

Allow me to be authentically me.

Hear me when I say- I do not fit in one box;

I am a girl with extraordinary dreams.

I am a force of nature. I am-
