A Black Girl Indeed

Tue, 12/02/2014 - 14:20 -- kadoma

Nappy hair, managable only through the aid of a hot comb.

Full round lips, sheltering a mouth full of opinionatedand witty statements.

Thighs tthicker than a bowl of cold grits.

I am indeed a black girl.

With scars invisible to the untrained eye.

A mind constantly thinking, scheming, trying to see the world with an open mind.

I am indeed a black girl.

Not one to be defined by my sensual shape, the enviorment I live in , or even mysocial ties

I am indeed a black girl

Sometimes ridiculed and abused by those to ignorant  to see

What jewls black girld were created to be

I am indeed a black girl

Ive been endowed with a gift from God .

Born with internal power .

Raised to embrace the good and bad of my heritage and the dark past of my people.

I am indeed PROUD to be a black girl.
