A Bird Among Fish
Location
She's a senior now while I just graduated.
I'm leaving.
She looks so cute when she smiles, so I try to make her laugh.
I'm leaving.
We haven't even talked that much, I'm just getting to know her.
I'm leaving.
Two weeks left, and I still feel like this.
I'm leaving.
Why does God, or fate, or chance have to put her in my head, every day.
I'm leaving.
It seems unfair that as I meet her, geography has to pull us apart.
I'm leaving.
It's not fair to her if I ask her out, but staying away hurts too much.
I'm leaving.
I can't sleep when I think about her; the adrenaline keeps me up.
I'm leaving.
I tell my heart, "there's a lot of fish in the ocean"; my heart replies, "...she's more of a bird, a fish doesn't stand a chance".
I'm leaving.
But soon, I have to say goodbye, both to her and my feelings.
After all...
I'm leaving.
