On Being A Virgin

Being a Virgin is sadly not prized

Yet often is seen as weak

It’s tough not to have lust in your eyes

When you lose your virginity you believe the lie,

That sex doesn’t leave you feeling bleak—just ask Jezebel she will speak.

Being a virgin is sadly not prized

Sometimes it’s hard to wait and be wise.

But I’ve met those who die inside because of what they did outside,

It’s hard not to have lust in your eyes

Cry and cry till the day that you die,

Because you lost that thing and find what you seek.

Being a virgin is sadly not prized

You’ve met something so you must say goodbye

To your youth, innocence, and accept that you are trapped on the mountain peek

In the end I find that though I wish to fly,

Waiting is best, for you change when you shriek

Being a virgin is sadly not prized

As it is hard to not have lust in your eyes
