Begin Again

Silent, still, dead, and gone
Tangled and twisted are limbs of bronze
Charred by flames of orange and yellow
A forest dying, dying, dead by ‘morrow

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Life is claimed for hell’s sweet lust
Scarred and broken, it seems unfair
But Earth is strong, do not despair

Up springs green through blackened soil
Triumphant despite much turmoil
Life breeds life through a cycle continuing
Death breeds life through a new beginning
