"Bee-fore I Knew"

O' bumbling, buzzing bee; whizzing past my ear.
You always seem so determined:
Please, tell me where you were...

Your stripes flowing yellow; your eyes and body black.
Traveling through the meadows:
To me you're always coming back...

Your appearance is misleading.
Your character so plain.
Your stings leave me bleeding; itching, swollen pain.

To nature you fool every creature; small in structure, busy-body ways.
Pollinating flowers as a heavenly preacher:
Back and forth you sway...

Tired from your journey.
Your honey is so sweet.
Your army made of many; I make my slow retreat.

Waking from your trance; your innocence so pure.
Fear trembles me at first glance:
Yet, within your hive, the birds and bears you lure...

Tired from your journey.
Your honey is so sweet.
From what I'm always learning; Looks, they can deceive.
