#BecauseILoveYou

Sun, 11/05/2017 - 22:38 -- nafisal

I've never been one for open souls

Or to write poems

But, because I love you

I have to tell the world...

Truth be told...

Before I loved you

You made me love me

You understood my ambition

And how I wanted to be free

I'd always say I would never wed

Those were the words I would speak

I am a feminist at heart

That’s just the way I think

Love? Real love?

How could this be?

The day my father left

I thought it wasn't for me

We're opposite

Because I love you it's okay

I'm your stormy night

And you my brighter day

I get on your nerves

And you irk my soul

But I put a sparkle in your smile

And you make me whole

It's the little things about you

Your sarcasm, your laugh

To the outside I have attitude

To you it's just sass

Because I love you

I associate love with your name

Sometimes I smile when I'm alone

You're the one to blame

I thought giving into you

Would make my dream fade away

But when I really fell for you

I realized it was okay

Because those dream weren't deferred

They didn't dry up or fade

But just like my mindset

I'd realized they changed

Because I love you

I was willing to stay

Because you love me

You let me walk away

Because you love you

You set me free

Because I love me

I finally spread my wings
